Spring Eggstravaganza

Date:Thursday, April 17th
Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: The Colony Five Star Complex 4100 Blair Oaks Dr
Cost: $3 per child in advance; $5 per child on event day

One of the most EGGciting events in The Colony is back for the 16th year in a row. Watch your kids have a ball as they gather eggs filled with an assortment of candy and prizes. Peter Rabbit is hoppin’ into town too – get your photo taken with him and then plant a flower to take home and watch bloom. Movies In The Park

Bring the whole family to enjoy popcorn and a kid-friendly movie as well as fun games and give-aways. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show on a large outdoor inflatable screen brought to you by the Parks and Recreation Department. Blankets, chairs and refreshments are welcome. Mother & Son Luau
Date: Saturday, May 31st
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Location: The Colony Aquatic Park 5580 N. Colony Blvd.
Cost: $25 per couple, $10 each additional son

An evening of family fun, exclusively for moms and sons! Bring your towel and swim suit and get ready to splash into summer with an action-packed evening of games and activities. Light refreshments will be provided. Purchase your tickets in advance at The Colony Recreation Center (5151 N. Colony Blvd.). Summer Cinema Clubhouse

Children of all ages can catch the latest flick at The Colony Recreation Center starting at 1 p.m. The doors open at noon, so come early to get a good seat! Liberty By The Lake

This signature Independence Day tradition includes live music, parade, children’s activities, business vendors, fun run/walk, salsa shootout and a fireworks finale that rivals any in North Texas. Liberty 5K 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run

Start your holiday off on the right foot at the 29th Annual Liberty 5K 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run. This family event welcomes runners and walkers of all abilities! Please arrive early to ensure you are ready for the start of the race! This event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and The Colony Parks and Recreation Department. Join us for this fun filled evening complete with free school supplies, mascot dance off and lots of helpful information for the upcoming school year. Calling all dog lovers! This one-of-a-kind event is returning for another great year at Hawaiian Falls Waterpark. Dive in with your best canine friend and enjoy doggie swims, contests, games, and prizes. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Colony Animal Shelter Injured Animal Fund. Don't miss the 8th Annual Family Fright Night family Halloween campout at Stewart Creek Park. American Heroes

The City of The Colony and American Legion Post 21 is once again proud to celebrate and honor all the men and women who are currently serving or have served our country at this all-day festival. Activities include a fun run/walk, car/bike/truck show, family entertainment, great food, live music, silent auction, patriotic Veterans ceremonies and an incredible fireworks show. Holiday in the Park & Parade of Lights& Baking Contest

This annual event, presented by The Colony Parks and Recreation Department, will make its way through town with a bang. All-day activities include: pictures with Santa from noon to 2 p.m. at The Colony Public Library, 6800 Main St. ($2 per photo); Parade of Lights at 5:45 p.m. (route begins at Peters Colony Elementary parking lot and proceeds west on Nash to Blair Oaks and then south to The Five Star Complex); Holiday In The Park at 6 p.m. at Perryman Park, 4930 S. Colony Blvd. Holiday in the Park will feature festive holiday music and performances, a holiday craft station and holiday baking contest. The Colony Christmas Spectacular
