Summer Cinema Clubhouse

Date: Thursday, Aug. 14, “The Lego Movie”

Time: 12pm doors – 1 p.m. movie
Location: The Colony Recreation Center,
5151 North Colony Blvd.
Cost: Free

 

The Colony Parks and Recreation is proud to present Summer Cinema Clubhouse, a three-month summer movie series for kids. Children of all ages can catch the latest flick at The Colony Recreation Center starting at 1 p.m. The doors open at noon, so come early to get a good seat! Sunset Concert Series

Date: Friday, Aug. 15, The Creek Band

Time: 8 - 10 p.m.

Location: Stewart Creek Park, 3700 Sparks Road

Cost: Free vehicle admission 30 minutes prior to performance.

 

Come on out to Stewart Creek Park to enjoy a sunset concert. Relax to the sounds of the band as we enjoy the beautiful sun setting on Lewisville Lake. For more information, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 972-625-1106.

 

Back to School Bash
Date: Tuesday, Aug. 19
Time: 5 – 8 p.m.
Location: The Colony Recreation Center, 5151 North Colony Blvd.
Cost: FREE for residents; $3 for non-residents

Join us for this fun filled evening complete with free school supplies, mascot dance off and lots of helpful information for the upcoming school year. Registration is required and space is limited to the first 500 children ages 5-12. Pre-register at The Colony Recreation Center. Movies In The Park
Date: Friday, Sept. 5, “Free Birds”
Time: 7:45 p.m.
Location: The Colony Five Star Complex, 4100 Blair Oaks Drive
Cost: FREE

Bring the whole family to enjoy popcorn and a kid-friendly movie as well as fun games and give-aways. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show on a large outdoor inflatable screen brought to you by the Parks and Recreation Department. Blankets, chairs and refreshments are welcome. Bow-Wow Luau
Date: Saturday, Sept. 13

Calling all dog lovers! This one-of-a-kind event is returning for another great year at Hawaiian Falls Waterpark. Dive in with your best canine friend and enjoy doggie swims, contests, games, and prizes. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Colony Animal Shelter Injured Animal Fund. Don't miss the Eighth Annual Family Fright Night family Halloween campout at Stewart Creek Park. Join us for a haunted trail, tent trick or treating, costume and scream contests, scary movie, hayride, campfire, s’mores and great food. American Heroes

The City of The Colony and American Legion Post 21 is once again proud to celebrate and honor all the men and women who are currently serving or have served our country at this all-day festival. Activities include a fun run/walk, car/bike/truck show, family entertainment, great food, live music, silent auction, patriotic Veterans ceremonies and an incredible fireworks show. Holiday in the Park & Parade of Lights& Baking Contest
Date: Saturday, Dec. 6

This annual event, presented by The Colony Parks and Recreation Department, will make its way through town with a bang. All-day activities include: pictures with Santa from noon to 2 p.m. at The Colony Public Library, 6800 Main St. ($2 per photo); Parade of Lights at 5:45 p.m. (route begins at Peters Colony Elementary parking lot and proceeds west on Nash to Blair Oaks and then south to The Five Star Complex); Holiday In The Park at 6 p.m. at Perryman Park, 4930 S. Colony Blvd. Holiday in the Park will feature festive holiday music and performances, a holiday craft station and holiday baking contest. The Colony Christmas Spectacular
